Chapter two----

While we excitedly paced the floors waiting for this visitor, Lyle "googled" who Elder Kenneth Johnson was! He was described on the phone by Pres. Monson's secretary as one of the Quorum of Seventy. But she didn't say his name with any preceding initial in front of his first name, or a distinguishing initial after his first name, as is usual and customary for most General Authorities ! So of course, we had to check him out...

His description, as I remember it, stated he is from England. And listed many great things about him. Mostly what I remember reading about him was he seemed very humble and unpretentious. (Is that a word)?

Then, within 30 minutes of the call from the sweet sister, a Gentleman in a dark suit entered Markyroom. I felt a presence of humility and love immediately. He greeted each of us warmly, and shared with us Pres. Monson's well wishes and love for Mark.

He then asked if he could give Mark a blessing. As he layed his strong hands on Markys head, the room was still. His words flowed like a beautiful warm cloak surrounding Marky. He spoke of health, recovery, life and spirit. He emphasized that these were blessings from God, thru him.

He said that the Doctor's would help him get better, but "It will be God that heals you and makes you well" .

I hope as you have read my version of this event, that you have been touched as I have. God does live, He knows us, each of us...even those of us who don't know HIM, like me!

I resolve to live that I may someday be worthy of these miracles that continue to rain down on me inspite of my weaknessessessess ..(that's alot).

I love you guys.

I was assigned to teach the lesson in RS this week and one of the related scriptures was about how God is a God of Miracles. I couldn't help but think of Marky and this very remarkable blessing. Mormon 9:18-19 "And who shall say that Jesus Christ did not do many mighty miracles? And there were many mighty miracles wrought by the hands of he apostles. And if there were miracles wrought then, why has Go ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles." All my love.

That was beautiful to read on a Sunday afternoon. Thanks for your testimony Lynette! What a special experience for your whole family. And how great that everyone just happened to be there when Elder Johnson came up. Still miss you in primary! And I told the kids you missed them too just like you asked. :) Sammy was so cute on the front row with all the Sunbeams today. (Or should I say on the front row, on the back row, behind the podium, on Vickie's lap,....he's cute wherever he's at, right?!)

Lynette, thank you for your testimony. I have always loved your ways of expressing your love for the gospel. If only you realize that all the while you have been helping to fill others' lamps yours was overflowing! I love you friend!

For Marky:

Q. What do you call a sleeping Dinosaur?

A: A dino-snore

Hey Nettie,
I have a few questions:
Where are all these supposed 'weaknessesessess' that you have? None of the rest of us can see them. Are they hiding in this oil lamp that you supposedly don't have? Under all this oil that you ran out of? I think you are just being humble and unpretentious (it's a word).
Lastly, did you pick up your teeth off the floor before or after the 10 second rule? It matters.
Seriously, we're so thrilled you have had such a choice experience to bring you peace and renewed hope. God doesn't just pass out blessings from his prophet randomly, he picked YOU, MARKYSMOM.
Love and Continued Prayers, Cathy

Lynette-
You are COMPLETELY worthy of such miracles and that is why you and Marky were chosen! What a wonderful way to go forward with faith knowing that the Prophet is completely aware and praying for Marky. Just another TENDER MERCY to add to the list. What a beautiful list you must be compiling. We love you and continue to pray for all of you.

Marky's Jokes:
