Hi everybody from Markysworld !

I returned from Pittsburgh last night to find that...believe it or not...everyone here survived without me for 5 days!

Marky fared well, or so it seemed, until I asked him if he'd
had a bath or brushed his teeth while I was gone.......

Scott turned 15 while I was gone !! Who let that happen! This is the 3rd year in a row that I have not been in town for my "first born's" birthday ! My previous job had taken me away from the home regularly, and this year proved no different. I tried, again, to explain to Scott that I needed
to leave town to work to keep the roof over our head...As
usual, Scott tried to understand and accept and forgive his mother! What a great son he is ! I hope someday when he is is older and wiser, that he will look back on his early years and understand that I was working like crazy to give him a good life, not just that I was "gone all the time"!

Tonight, Our Bishop and Stake President are coming over to visit us !!!!

Aside from clearing a path for them to walk into the living room and arrange all the bean-bags "just so". I think I will really go all out and pull up all the old DUCT TAPE on the carpet and replace it with FRESH LAID DUCT TAPE !!

Nothing but high class from the Jeanes people !

Glad to be home and back on the blog !

You may have noticed that there has been no post on the blog in the past several days. Lynette has been away at a special seminar in Pittsburgh preparing for her board exams and she has been very focused.

Mark has been soldiering along very well and is feeling well. He continues with Methotrexate and Remicade injections and is working toward a divorce with his TPN bag. Maybe in as little as another week he will be able to return to school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott has had a birthday and is now 15!!! He is shooting up in inches as well as years.

Sam is still in charge and is directing the play.

Zoey Update:
Just talked to Lynette and heard that Zoey is doing much better today. She is pretty bruised up, one eye is swollen shut from all the bruising around her head and face. They took off the head/neck brace and this morning she is walking around and responding to questions, so signs are good that there are no neurological effects from her fall. Thank you for your prayers in Zoey's behalf. Life is fragile so enjoy each day and don't forget to tell the ones you love how special they are to you!

Monday afternoon--

Sending out a plea for prayers for a sweet little friend named
Zoey Kener, age 3.

She fell off a 2nd story balcony of sometype and has a large
crack in her skull.

She is up at PCMC ICU pretty banged up and in need of miracles
of her own !

Our heartfelt love and concern and prayers go out to her and
her family.

Thanks everyone....Zoey needs MarkysBuddys to pray for HER !

Sunday Night at Markys home !

Yesterday Marky started some chemotherapy drugs to

combat the disease process.

He will now get a shot in his leg, once a week...

given by Me or his Dad......eeeeek ! !

The stuff is called methyltrexate, or something like

that. Its a smaller dose than they give for most

cancers. So hopefully the effects wont be as severe.

So far, he's doin okay. He's a champion !

We were invited to attend the Make-A-Wish gayla

dinner/fundraiser last night at the GRAND AMERICA

HOTEL ballroom !

What a neat experience. There were around 600 people

there, most of them business people with VERY generous

hearts.

Mingling among the crowd of the exquisitely dressed,

affluent (is that how you spell it?) people, were young

people, such as Marky, wearing WHITE ROSES on their

lapels identifying them as "WISH CHILDREN".

As these "important" people noticed the young little "white rose wearers", I sensed a feeling of pure love and compassion

from them.

These people's sole purpose for being there was to help

ease these little sufferers' burden's, if not just for

a short time. To give them repreave from the pain of their

illness and perhaps forget for awhile, the cross they have

valiantly been called to bear.

My heart is filled with gratitude for these kind people,

along with the hundreds of others of our friends and family

as I think of the impact that even ONE CHILD, such as Marky

has on the human spirit.

I am resolved to GIVE as you all have given to us. To

return kindness and caring and love to anyone in my reach.

As I kneel to speak to our Father in Heaven, I know, he

is listening. I know he sends help in so MANY ways to

confirm His existence and make good on His promises to

not forsake us in our times of need.

I am humbled, as always at the realization of the infinite

love of God for EACH of us as His children.

THE WISH HAS BEEN WISHED FOR !

Last night Marky and family went to the Make-A-Wish "wonderland" !

What a great experience ! We were greated by the "wish-granters", Mary, Jodi, and Annie, at the door and the night turned magical !

They wish-granters gave us a tour of the "castle" which was so cool ! There were pictures and stories hanging on the walls of precious children and their wishes granted.

Pictures of kids in front of Disneyland, Disneyworld, Paris, Hawaii,
Secret Gardens....Everything magical.

Hanging from the ceiling were hundreds of crystal like stars...each with a special childs name on it who had received wishes !

I was overcome with emotion at the realization that my Marky fit into this category to deserve a wish !

Flashbacks of the last 4 months of hospitals, surgeries, pain, sorrow at diagnosis's unknown, IV's, needles, NG tubes, vomiting, unknown futures, and on...

These little angels with their names on the stars above..EACH ONE.. had suffered more than any one could ever imagine their child suffering...

And each one, i'm positive, faced THEIR challenge just as heroic as my Marky has.

Do they not each deserve any wish that could be pulled down from Heaven?

As the "wish-granter's" inquired of Marky what he might like to do, or where he might like to go, I imagined him popping out with grand ideas like.....Disneyland or beaches....

Then...all of the sudden...He said it....!


"I WANT AN ARMY JEEP ! "



WHAT !!!! we all said ???? Yep, you heard right..an ARMY JEEP!


The "wish-granter's" said..."No-one's ever asked for THAT before" !

But they humored him and I could see their wheels start turning in their creative heads. !


So on the way home I started to think....Hmmm how's that gonna
look in the FRONT YARD..which is where he wanted to put It !

We convinced him that it could be more fun in the BACK yard for lots of better reasons ...and he settled for that !

So there goes another lesson from Marky....No place is ever as GREAT AS YOUR OWN BACKYARD TO BE !! IN THE WHOLE WORLD OF CHOICES...HE PREFERS TO STAY HOME AND HANG OUT !.....IN A JEEP !

Maybe the Army Jeep represents to him a protection from the world...To sit in it and not let the bad guys get at you..? This is my take on it.....what about you?

More about today--sunday--

Today Marky and I went back up to PCMC to get his pic line replaced.

before they did so, the IV guy decided to give it one more try to

unclot the line. He worked on it for close to 30 min.

i remembered that yesterday, they got one of the lumens opened

up ( there are 2 lumens side by side). I remember thinking about

me and Markys prayer...that the angels would help unclot it. (See

the blog a few entries down)

So today as they made a last attempt before they sedated him, I

watched the guy ( a former MARINE--by the way), working and

working....I thought of the story of the Pioneer Woman whose

OX had fallen down... She pleaded with the Lord and told the

OX to "GET UP,..

I CANT DO THIS ALONE" . ...I thought about that DARN CLOT !

I pleaded with the Lord, in my heart, to MOVE THAT CLOT !... The IV guy got

up and left the room for a sec, then came back with a giant syringe.

he messed with the line again and all of the sudden Marky said...

"wow" and said he felt a WHOOSH go by in his neck !

The clot had been dissolved in some way and Marky felt a sudden

rush of blood flow coming thru !

THE OX GOT UP for ME !

This is proof of things that I dont deserve to experience....but God

gives these things to people like me who need teaching over and

over....

I reminded Marky on our drive home, that our prayers had been answered.

I told him that he could pray any time anywhere...in his heart or on his

knees.. that God would hear him, especially because he is a child.

CRAFTING BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENTS.

ONE OF THE TV NEWS ANCHORS (SORRY--CANT REMEMBER HER

NAME) INTRODUCED MARKY AND ME !!!!

WE HAD COME STRAIGHT FROM PRIMARY CHILDRENS TRYING TO

GET THE PIC LINE UNCLOGGED. THE NEWS LADY ASKED MARKY

ABOUT HIS STAY AT THE HOSP. HE WAS SO CUTE AND ADORABLE !

THEN SHE ASKED ME SOME STUFF, WHICH I CANT REMEMBER WHAT

I SAID RIGHT NOW ! BUT THE WHOLE THING WENT GREAT.

THEN THEY ASKED MARKY TO CHOOSE A FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

FOR ME AND THEY AUCTIONED IT UP.

JOHN AND DEBRA GREENBAND--THE HOME SHOW PRODUCERS--

RAN THE BID UP AND WON. SO I GOT TO BRING THE GORGEOUS

FLOWERS HOME !

AFTERWARDS, THE LADY IN CHARGE OF THE PCMC TELETHON

COMING UP IN MAY INVITED MARKY AND ME TO COME AND BE

GUESTS ON THAT TOO ! COOOOOOLLLL!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO CAME TO SUPPORT HIM !

This is Marky's Aunt Dianne and I wanted to tell everyone of the great experience we had last night at our Stake Conference. Our visiting General Authority was Elder Kenneth Johnson...the same Elder Johnson that gave Marky his wonderful blessing in January! After the meeting which by the way was the BEST Saturday night session of conference I have ever been too, we went up to him to tell him about Marky. I started out by saying, "Do you remember going to PCMC in January and...he then finished my sentence by saying "giving a blessing to Marky Jeanes?" I said Yes and was going to give him an update on how great Marky was doing when he said he reads the blog all the time. I thanked him for the wonderful blessing he gave Marky and he said "what I told Marky in his blessing came straight from our Heavenly Father." I told him Marky and his family were coming for dinner tomorrow and he said, Please give my love to Marky and his wonderful parents. He is such a great man, so obedient, so close to the spirit, such a man of God. I have NO DOUBT that the blessing he gave Marky will come to pass! It was a wonderful experience to meet this man-one that I will ever be grateful for.

All miracles are welcome and today's is gratefully accepted. Lynette and Mark are @ PCMC where the Vein Team unclogged Mark's Pic and therefore, no surgical procedure is required!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother and child are soon to be expelled and will return to the family castle with smiles and appetites enhanced for more good gluten-free tasties.

Actually the family gets to go to Uncle Allan's for Steak Dinner!!!! Again braveness gains a reward.

TO TRY AND DISSOLVE THE CLOTS...

ABOUT A HALF HOUR --THEN THEY WILL TRY TO PUSH THRU THE

FLUIDS AGAIN.

IF THIS DOESNT WORK, THEY WILL PULL THE LINE OUT AND MOVE

IT TO HIS OTHER ARM.

THIS REQUIRES SEDATION DUE TO THE PAIN OF THREADING A

GARDEN HOSE SIZE CATHETER UP YOUR ARM VEIN INTO A

DEEPER VEIN.

AS THE DR LEFT THE ROOM, MARKY AND I SAID A SPECIAL PRAYER.

THAT MARKYS ANGELS COULD FIND TIME TO COME AND HELP.

AND IF THEY COULDNT GET HERE IN TIME, THAT WOULD BE OKAY.

WE WOULD THEN TRY TO HAVE COURAGE TO ENDURE THE MORE

NEEDLE STICKS.

MARKY IS A PILLAR OF STRENGTH AND BRAVERY .

SATURDAY MORNING !

THE "PIC-LINE" FAIRIES WERE UNABLE TO UNCLOT

MARKY'S IV LINE LAST NIGHT !

SO WE HAVE GONE "UP TO THE MOUNTAIN" TO

PRIMARY'S TO SEE IF THEY CAN GET SOME GO

JUICE TO GO THRU HIS VEINS !

WE'RE IN A ROOM IN THE ER AWAITING THE MAGICIANS ARRIVAL TO FIX THE CLOT!

WE ARE HOPEFUL MARKY CAN STILL MAKE HIS

CELEBRITY APPEARANCE AT THE HOME SHOW !

WE WOULD HATE TO DISAPPOINT TY PENNINGTON

Is it Friday already !

Marky's PIC line is clotted off again ! UGH !

There.....i'll just get it out there right off the bat !

The home health nurse will come out today to do her
magic on it, hopefully, and get it runnin again !

Other than that, he's had a great week. Aunt Lori is
flitting about the countryside the last few days, so Markys
been having fun with our neighbors, Jen Larsen and Cathy
Widdison while James went to school and Mom worked !

Sammy has been healthy this week too and back in his
routine of pre-school and playing at his day-care home!

Scott is counting down the days till his 15th Birthday !!!
Another UGH !!!! March 28th is the big day. He is
approaching 5'10" or taller and is so much fun to be
around..is a great help with everything...AND HE"S
HEALTHY !

The other day Marky asked me.."Mom, why doesnt Scotty
have a "life-threatening" illness? , me and Sam do !?"

Marky didnt want Scotty to feel left out, I guess !

I wanted to say stuff like...well, Heavenly Father only
gives challenges to those he knows can handle them....
and other quips that we use to soften the "blow" of disasters.

But, when I thought about Scott and what he goes thru just
watching all the "stuff" happening, WATCHING your 2 little
brothers fight for their lives many times. The emotion of
all of that is possibly just as tough as BEING
the "sufferer" !

Scott continues to get himself up at 05:15 am everyday for
early morning Seminary. He's getting good grades. Doesnt
have a police record. And still tells his Mom he loves her !

Those are "life threatening" challenges right there !! !

Something to think about....

Tomorrow we go to the Home and Garden Show at South
Towne expo ctr to be the guest celebrity. !

Will report on that tomorrow !

Tuesday evening with Marky !

Marky is currently getting caught up on his ACADEMICS with
his sweet teacher LISA HODSON !

She comes to the house twice a week to teach him !

AFTER being pecked all day by the other "little chicks", Lisa extends
herself even further to "go after the one" ! She is a visiting angel
and we love her sweet approach to teaching and the genuine caring
spirit she brings into our home !

MARKY has been invited to be a celebrity guest at the Home and Garden
Show at South Towne Expo center on Saturday !!!!

There will be a Charitable Auction with proceeds to Primary Childrens
Med Ctr. done by the local floral vendors.

They want Marky to come and help rally the troups by offering his
experiences at PCMC ! I think they may have some cool posters of
him and say a little something about him too.

We get to be there around 3pm. this Sat.

So everybody come and get in on the action !

Woo Hoo !

TUESDAYS ARE GREAT !....

..CAUSE THEY'RE NOT MONDAY ! UNLESS YESTERDAY WAS

YOUR B-DAY..MADDIE AND AUNT BARBIE AND COUSIN LARAE !

MARKY IS DOING GREAT NOW. HIS PIC LINE DECIDED TO

CLOT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT

DURING HIS IV FEEDING !

BEEPING ALARMS AT 3:30 AM ARE NOT SO CHEERFUL

TO WAKE UP TO !

WE COULDNT PERSUADE THE DARN THING TO UN-CLOT,

SO WE CLAMPED IT ALL OFF AND DECIDED TO WAIT FOR

AN EXPERT !

THE HOME HEALTH NURSE CAME YESTERDAY AND SAVED

THE DAY WITH SOME "MIRACLE JUICE" TO INJECT IN THE

LINE CALLED..."TPA" .

SO WE'RE BACK...GOING WITH THE FLOW...ON ALL LEVELS !

SAMMY GETS HIS SCHOOL PICTURES TAKEN TODAY !

NOW THIS SHOULD BE FUN !

I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CHOOSE A "SITTING POSE" FOR HIM

ON THE TAKE HOME FLYER !

I'D LOVE TO SEE HIM JUST SIT FOR 2 SECONDS ! LET ALONE

HOLD A POSE !

NOW IF THERE WERE DORITOS SOMEHOW INVOLVED IN THE

PERSUASION PROCESS, I THINK A POSE COULD BE POSSIBLE !

I CHECKED OFF THE MOST DISTINGUISHING LOOKING POSE.

WE'LL SEE HOW THAT ALL TURNS OUT !
